We had the privilege of having Professor Yajima provide us with a guest lecture on June 30th to the intercultural communication-a critical perspective seminar! Professor Yajima currently teaches in Louisiana University.  He provided us with three Communication theories, then lead us to cultivate new perspectives through using these theories to comprehend the political situation in United States of America and Japan.  At first glance, there seems to be vast difference between these two nations but by applicating the Communication theories provided, we were able to created a bridge to understand the similar mental and social phenomenon occurring and how it is affecting the political climate.  While multitude of hectic events are occurring in both country’s political climate, this lecture provided us with tools to critically and logically analyze current situations to grasp the circumstance further.
